Pictures Gallore!

Chad and I on the Bus tour! It was very informative. It was a "hop on" and "hop off" tour.
One of my favourite looking hotels. It is supposed to symbolize an ocean wave crashing. Beauty!
Our tourist bus! Gotta love it!
Castle in Abu Dhabi.
Mosque from the highway. As you are driving on the highway the have signs that have pictures of a gas station, food, and a mosque, every 10 km. Interesting.

Abu Dhabi Adventure

This is the family beach. Its for westerns, couples, and families. Its beautiful blue! It is honestly like going into a warm bath. Sometimes it is hotter in the water than outside if you go to the beach in the afternoon. Best time to go, 3-4 O'Clock.
Chad and I at the family beach.
This is the view from the castle hotel in Abu dhabi. We got it with chads work pass!
This picture cannot describe the beauty of th hotel entrance. Breath taking.
At the mall.....

Abu Dhabi is not as developed as Dubai, and it is more strict. But they have so many options for westerners. Chad and I also went to the Shangra La hotel, which was incredible. A great adventure all in all!

Differences...just a few....

Well, there are some differences that I noticed right away:

1. Mosques: They are every 3 km. It makes sense since the religion requires people to pray 5 times a day. But these buildings are sooooo beautiful. They are light up at night, and are breath taking.

2. Food: Its all about spices!! Since they do trade it here. Coriander is a popular one. The main dishes are spiced meat and rice. So pretty similar to Canada. Turkish coffee is very popular here. Which is very strong coffee. As Chad says "If you drink half of it you'll be up for 2 days, and if you drink it all you'll be up for 3 days." haha Dessert is not common, however, I did manage to buy ice cream at the local grocery store.

3. Clothing: There are s many "westerners" here, so attire just means being "respectful". No real changes, depending on where you go. If you are going out to a restaurant, wearing pants is a given.

Thats all for now, if anyone has any questions/requests let me know!

The Emirates Experience

This is the First 7 star hotel in the world, Which has a helicopter pad to fly guests to and from the airport. HA!
Tallest building in the world.
This is how the Malls look around here. Wow.
Ski Dubai. Not as exciting to a Canadian but none the less impressive.
My ride. Which had showers and spa services available....or first class...

Hello Everyone,

So sorry that it took so me so long to start this blog.

First off, the plane ride was fantastic! You got a blanket, pillow, socks, tooth brush, facial cloth, and beauty sleeping glasses with stickers that said "Wake me up for food" or "Do not wake me up" hhaah It was unbelievable service. Spa services and showers were upstairs on first class.

Chad and I have been doing a Jump on and off Bus tour. We even got to go to the Palm islands, which is completely amazing. A sight for sore eyes! We went to the museums, and there are unbelievable malls here! All designer clothes, so Carrie would be in heaven!

They have Bars here for "Westerners". We went to one they have in Paris as well, called the Buddah bar. It was great. Met people from England, Montreal, Chicago, South Africa, and Canadians galore, who say that they are just passing through trying to make some money for a couple of years and get experience.

The weather is 40 degrees everyday. Its like walking into a sauna. Surprisingly you get used to it quite fast. Anyways, I will keep you posted! Miss you and love you all!

Your desert lady,

Allie
