Differences...just a few....

Well, there are some differences that I noticed right away:

1. Mosques: They are every 3 km. It makes sense since the religion requires people to pray 5 times a day. But these buildings are sooooo beautiful. They are light up at night, and are breath taking.

2. Food: Its all about spices!! Since they do trade it here. Coriander is a popular one. The main dishes are spiced meat and rice. So pretty similar to Canada. Turkish coffee is very popular here. Which is very strong coffee. As Chad says "If you drink half of it you'll be up for 2 days, and if you drink it all you'll be up for 3 days." haha Dessert is not common, however, I did manage to buy ice cream at the local grocery store.

3. Clothing: There are s many "westerners" here, so attire just means being "respectful". No real changes, depending on where you go. If you are going out to a restaurant, wearing pants is a given.

Thats all for now, if anyone has any questions/requests let me know!

  1. This is so informative! Keep posting stuff like that, and you can establish yourself as a travel agent!

That Castle picture was breath taking. I would like to see more shots of downtown Abu dhabi and your house!
